National Service Scheme is one of the largest voluntary organization which inculcate discipline, leadership, term spirit and self confidence.
Aims & Objectives
> The Main Objectives of National Service Scheme (NSS) are:
> Understand the community in which they work.
> Understand themselves in relation to their community.
> Identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem solving.
> Develop themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility.
> Develop the competence required for group - living and sharing responsibilities.
> Gain skills in mobilizing community participation.
> Acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitude.
> Develop capacity to adapt to emergency situation like natural disasters and
> Practice National integration and Harmony.
> On the whole NSS is Development of personality of students through Community Service.
> In the month of July our volunteers are participated in clean & green programme.
> Independence day was celebrated on 15th August the flag was hoisted by Sri T.Srinivasa Babu, Secretary & Correspondent T.J.P.S. College, Guntur. In his speech he remembered the great freedom fighters who gave their lives to the nation.
> About 50 volunteers were participated in the world literacy campaign.
> On the eve of 'NSS day', we organized a lecture regarding NSS importane, talsks and targets to
> e achieved in the Academic years. On this day we distributed books, pens, other stationery items to the edentified BLIND students.
> About 25 volunteers are participated in a rally cum meeting on ENVIRONMENTAL Awareness at Gandhi Park organized by Municipal Corporation Guntur.
> Organised elocution competition on the eve of Anti Nuclear weapons
> Red Ribbon Club (RRC) being inaugurated in the college campus. In this connection a guest lecture being organized on HIV/AIDS.
> Delivered a lecture on Awareness on EBOLA VIRUS At Career Degree College Guntur.
> Delivered 4 guest lecturers at Mahatma Gandhi College, Chalamaiah college, Jain College, Christian Women's College on HIV/AIDS.
> Organized a quest lecture on ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS by AP Pollution Control Board Environmental Engineer Sri, K.L.P. Kumar. On this day our volunteers are distributed Ganesh Clay model. Requested the staff and students use clay model instead of PLASTER O FPARIS on the occasion of VINAYAKA CHAVITHI.
> Our volunteers organized a Mega Rally in connection with World's Aids day (1st December) Principal Dr.Y.V.Siva Prasada Rao participated in this rally. About 100 volunteers are actively involved in this rally with Placards. This rally was a great success and so many young students are motivated.
> NSS students are actively involved in Mega Blood Donation Camp held at College auditorium. About 100 NSS volunteers donated their blood and their event Blood Bank Incharge I.Anasuya, Secretary & Correspondent T. Srivinasa Babu, ANU NSS Co Ordinator Dr. K.Sumanth Kumar are actively involved and shared their views regarding the blood donation camp. Our principal and vice principal has donated their blood on this occasion.
> Organized a guest lecture on STRESS MANAGEMENT by Dr. Uma Jyothi famous psychologist, GGH Guntur.
> 4 students are participated in youth exchange programme and they went to KURNOOL to share their views regarding our District In association with STEP OFFICE.
> 50 students are actively involved in Pulse Polio Camp the programme being conducted by Medical & Health Department.
> On the occasion of birth anniversary of NEHRUJI GUEST LECTURER, Eloctiom and essay writing competitions are organized.
> Organised Blood Grouping to NSS volunteers and all first degree students. Blood Donor Club is established in this occasion.
> For HUD HUD Cyclone victims with the help of our management, staff, students an amount of 1 lakh rupees is handed over to our Joint collector.
> Organized a guest lecturer on COMMUNICATION SKILLS by Motivator B.N.Rao
SWATCHA BHARAT programme being chalked out. Students are actively involved in this programme for 30 days.
> Clean & Green programme being chalked out. Gardening is done in phase wise by our volunteers and considerable progress has been achieved.
> Thus our NSS unit has been involved in various activities and it hoped that the unit will continue its activity in future with more courage, sprit and enthusiasm by the help and encouragement of MANAGEMENT, STAFF AND STUDENTS.
